NOVEMBER 2025
Dear Friends,
As the end of the calendar year approaches, I write to ask for your support of Daughters of Israel, and its mission of caring for Jewish seniors and others in need in our community.
Daughters of Israel is a skilled nursing facility providing comprehensive healthcare services, along with meaningful social and recreational programming, to Jewish seniors and others in need. Our warm, family-like atmosphere fosters a sense of purpose for our residents and offers peace of mind to their families. In addition, our short-term rehabilitation center has long provided expert care in a modern, state-of-the-art environment.
To address the evolving needs in senior healthcare, we are working with the Township of West Orange to obtain approval for our Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) Redevelopment Project. This initiative will offer the highest level of service for all stages of care including independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing care and rehabilitation. The new state-of-the-art development will be built on the existing campus with many amenities including: private and formal dining rooms, café, pub, salon & spa, wellness center and other many more. This expansive Redevelopment Plan will provide a continuum of care for our community allowing Daughters to continue our 120-year-old mission far into the future.
As a non-profit, Daughters operates at a shortfall each year due to ongoing increases to cost of care outpacing Medicaid reimbursements. At the same time, we are continually enhancing the quality of life for our residents through new and innovative programming and services.
In September, we gathered as a community to raise critical funds for the Home at the Fern Forman Memorial Golf Tournament, Tennis, Pickleball and Card Party, where we honored Larry Rothenberg with the Susan Grosser Distinguished Service Award. The outing was held at Mountain Ridge Country Club and was one of our most successful events. We appreciate and express our thanks to all our sponsors, supporters and participants for their commitment and support and hope to see everyone at next year’s golf event. We are also planning our annual Casino Night event for next April. Please stay tuned for more details.
In addition to the support raised through events, Daughters depends on individual donations to meet the increasing financial demands of the Home. Your contribution plays a critical role in helping us uphold our commitment to excellence in care. Please join me in making a gift to Daughters and its mission for our Seniors.
With Giving Tuesday approaching, December 2nd, now is the perfect time to show your support. Please consider making a gift to support our residents and the meaningful work we do every day. Your generosity truly empowers us to continue providing the highest level of service and care to our seniors.
Gifts of any size are deeply appreciated. You can make your gift at: www.DaughtersofIsrael.org/support-us/end-of-year-donation-fund.
